Cheshire trainer Tom Dascombe reports leading hopes Kachy and Arcanada to be in great shape ahead of the £1-million All-Weather Championships Finals Day on Polytrack at Lingfield Park on Good Friday, March 30.
Kachy is favourite at 5/2 with the sponsor for the £150,000 Betway All-Weather Sprint Championships (3.05pm, 12 entries) over six furlongs, while Arcanada (11/4) is second in the betting behind Second Thought (William Haggas, 13/10) for the £150,000 Sunbets All-Weather Mile Championships (4.10pm, 12 entries).
Kachy and Arcanada are both unbeaten during the current season five of the All-Weather Championships, which started on October 24, 2017.
Five-year-old Kachy, by Kyllachy, has recorded two victories over course and distance at Lingfield Park with ever-present jockey Richard Kingscote on board in 2018, most recently defeating 2017 Betway All-Weather Sprint champion Kimberella (Richard Fahey, 4/1) by a short-head in the Listed Betway Cleves Stakes on February 3.
He also boasted high-class form on turf as a younger horse, including a G3 success as a two-year-old in the 2015 Molecomb Stakes (5f) at Glorious Goodwood, before finishing second in the following year's G1 Commonwealth Cup (6f) at Royal Ascot.
Arcanada is three from three so far this All-Weather season and last time out narrowly got the better of Mr Owen in a conditions race on Tapeta at Wolverhampton on February 5.
The five-year-old is also unbeaten in two starts on the Polytrack at Lingfield Park, taking a handicap in good style on November 18 and a conditions race well from Gabrial on January 6.
Dascombe said today: "Kachy has had a nice preparation since his win in the Cleves Stakes. He is in good shape, moving well and everything is fine.
"He just appears to enjoy going left-handed. His best runs have been against the left rail at Goodwood, Chester, where he won as a three-year-old, and more recently Lingfield.
"He looks to have an obvious chance on Friday. We are hoping for a reasonable draw and then we will see where we go from there.
"Arcanada looks fantastic at the moment. He has improved with literally every run of his life and I don't see why he can't find another pound or two later this week.
"He is probably going to need to find another pound or two to beat Second Thought and the like, but he is going into the race in really good shape."
The richest race on All-Weather Championships Finals Day, Good Friday, is the £200,000 Betway Easter Classic over 10 furlongs, in which Master The World (David Elsworth, 100/30 favorite) will try to follow up his victory in the G3 Betway Winter Derby over the same course and distance on February 24.
1.30pm £50,000 Sunbets All-Weather Championships Apprentice Handicap, 7f
For four-year-olds and upwards rated 81-100. Lowest weight 8st 5lb, highest weight 9st 10lb. Penalties: after March 17, for each race won 6lb. To be ridden by Apprentices. Allowances: Riders who, prior to March 27, 2018, have not ridden more than 50 winners in races under the Rules of Racing or the Rules of a recognised Racing Authority 3lb, riders who have not ridden more than 25 such winners 5lb, riders who have not ridden more than 10 such winners 7lb.
