Marie D'Argent maintained her unbeaten record when booking her place for All-Weather Championships Finals Day, Good Friday, March 30, with a smooth success in the €52,000 Listed Prix Saonois over a mile on Polytrack at Cagnes-sur-Mer, France, today, Saturday, February 17. The four-year-old daughter of Kendargent was held up last of the nine-strong field as Miracle Des Aigles under Ronan Thomas set a good pace. Turning for home, Corine Barande-Barbe's charge remained in front, but was soon headed by Time's Arrow under Stephane Pasquier who led approaching the final furlong. The Frederic Possi-trained Marie D'Argent swept home on the outside to take the lead under a hands and heels ride by Nicholas Perret well inside the final furlong to score comfortably by a length and a half from Lilly Kafeine in second and Roc Angel third. The winning time came to 1m 34.82s. Having won this Fast-Track Qualifier, Marie D'Argent gains a free and automatic place in the line-up in for the £150,000 Sun Bets Mile Championships, also on Polytrack, at Lingfield Park on All-Weather Championships Finals Day, Good Friday, March 30. Marie D'Argent was winning for the fourth time in as many starts and a tilt at the All-Weather Championships is now a potential target for the filly according to her trainer. Rossi said: "We will definitely think about coming to Lingfield now for the All-Weather Championships. "She's a very good filly with a great turn of foot who is now unbeaten in four starts. "This has given me so much pleasure as it's for the boss [owner, Jean-Claude Seroul]. Today was a step-up in class and she passed with flying colours." Claude Memran, owner of the second Lilly Kafeine, commented: "It's a dream for us that she has just finished second in a Listed race and we would definitely like to consider coming to Lingfield with her. We're over the moon!"
