Coverage began initially at Lingfield Park on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December, with Wolverhampton and Southwell Racecourses following in the New Year.  In addition to sectional timing, TPD are also providing live data feeds for use in third party betting applications. Post-race the data will be available to the public at: www.awchampionships.co.uk/your-guide/sectional-timing/.  In due course the data will be available live on the At The Races TV channel and on www.attheraces.com. This announcement heralds the first European racecourse group to deploy a system that only needs GPS tracking boxes to time each runner.  TPD provides market leading satellite tracking, designed specifically for racehorses by Gmax Technology Ltd.  Developed by engineers from the famous Cambridge high tech cluster, the pioneering system calculates split times, distance run, and transmits live positions; all within fractions of a second. Will Duff Gordon, Founder of TPD said: “We are very grateful for the vision being shown by ARC in partnering with us to provide widespread split timing. As an owner and long term racing enthusiast I am convinced that we can make the sport more entertaining and interesting by offering more in-race data for analysing the sport.” Stephen Higgins, Racing and Property Director at ARC commented: “We are delighted to be working with TPD to provide sectional timing data to the All-Weather Championships.  We look forward to continuing to work with TPD to make sure that data is available to customers and fans of all-weather racing for seasons to come.” Will Bradley, Founder of Gmax said: “The variety of British racecourses places particularly challenging requirements on tracking technology.  However, our innovative design delivers the tracking performance required by ARC, in a highly portable, low cost and easy to operate system.” The All-Weather Championships Blog will continue to publish fortnightly blog posts from sectional timing expert Simon Rowlands, of Timeform which are available here: www.awchampionships.co.uk/category/latest-news/.
