ARC are delighted to be supporting the inaugural All-Weather Championships Pony Racing Series, as part of the wider winter flat season. A series of four races, one at each of ARC’s all-weather venues, over the course of the winter will lead to the All-Weather Pony Racing Final at Lingfield Park on Good Friday.
Accompanying the new All-Weather Vase fixture on Good Friday, participants will get to enjoy the thrill of racing in front of their families and friends, at what has become a hugely popular day in the British Racing calendar.
Riders aged 14 and above will be able to take part in the 148cm series, with dates to be announced soon.
Since 2004, over 150 riders have graduated from Pony Racing to become full time jockeys, including the likes of Billy Loughnane, Hector Crouch, Hollie Doyle and Tom Marquand, with many others also going to work in roles within the horseracing industry. Those that have taken part over the years have come from a variety of backgrounds, including many who have no previous links to racing or equestrianism.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for our more experienced riders. It will give them a chance to really hone their skills throughout the winter. We are so grateful to ARC for creating this new series and looking forward to seeing the young jockeys gaining this amazing experience."
